Position Orientation
Training is for New Leaders and New Assistant Leaders
This course for new troop leaders and assistant leaders includes information on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and the program goals of Girl Scouting. It covers the topics of girl/adult partnership, pluralism, health and safety and the empowerment of girls. This course builds on Welcome to Girl Scouting. A copy of Safety-Wise and Leader Information Manual will be issued to each participant at this training. Bring a notebook.
Prerequisites:
- Volunteer application and references submitted to Recruiter or Service Unit Coordinator.
- Completed "Welcome to Girl Scout" packet.
Bring:
- A notebook
- Pen/pencil
- Safety Wise
- Leader Infomation Manual (LIM)
Additional Information:
- Girl Scouts of the Calumet Council requires training for all leaders and assistant leaders. Basic Leadership Training consists of “Welcome to Girl Scouting”, “Position Orientation”, and “Program Level Training” within three months of troop registration and appointment as a leader/assistant leader.
